Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has stepped down for a leading presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
While addressing delegates at the Eagles Square, Abuja during the ongoing Special Convention of the party, Fayemi said he sacrificed his presidential ambition for Tinubu as a matter of duty.
According to Fayemi, he is still young and has a lot of years ahead of him. He asked his delegates and supporters to cast their votes for Tinubu.
He said, “We must look for the most appropriate person at this time to do this job. I am prepared to sacrifice my ambition to be the president of Nigeria. I am a young man and I still have a lot of years ahead of me. One person I have worked with, a great fighter for Nigeria, that I want to recommend is that you please, accord me the respect that you have given me to my elder brother, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am not doing him a favour, for me, it’s a duty and we shall support him.”
