MASSIVE Protest Kicks Off In Sokoto State Against President Buhari, See The Reason

The bandits in the North- Western Zone of Nigeria had forced the government to take drastic measures to fight them and in doing so, the residents have been negatively affected and because of this, the Sokoto residents had kick- started a protest against the Insecurity and hardship in the region.

According to Sahara Reporters, youths of Goronyo town in the Goronyo local government area of Sokoto State have taken to the streets in large numbers to protest against the terrible position of instability in the area.

According to Sahara Reporters, it was learnt that the movement started on Tuesday when angry Sokoto residents mobilized themselves to march against the poor security state of their formerly peaceful communities.

The youths who were demonstrating against the instability in the area revealed that the operations of the Bandits has forced numerous people to flee the city. Sokoto is one of the Nigerian states which are the worst hit by banditry in the North- Western zone.

According to the residents, the security instability in the Sokoto State and entire Northern Nigeria had worsened under the President Muhammadu Buhari- led government.

Recently, the state government ordered the suspension of telecommunications services in some parts of the state to check the operations of banditry in the state.

The ban on mobile phone services is effective in Dange Shuni, Tambuwal, Sabon Birni, Raba, Tureta, Goronyo, Tangaza and Isa original government areas amongst others.

Sokoto State communities affected by the banditry had revealed that some bandits operating in the Eastern Senatorial District of the state lately resorted to writing letters to reach out to families of their victims to demand ransoms.

According to reports, a letter was written to a traditional community in Burkusuma, demanding a rescue to secure the release of 20 persons abducted from two communities in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area.

The ban on mobile phone services in Sokoto hadn’ t put an end to the bandits as they had improvised their communication strategy using the Old style which is letter writing.

This development had proven that more needs to be done to rid the northern region free of bandits and the ban on telecommunication services would only inflict more hardship in the North.countiue reading…………..
