The former Real Madrid defensive stalwart, who left the team last year to join the Premier League giants, has praised his fellow countryman for his quick adaptation. Los Blancos acquired him this past summer in a deal estimated to be worth around €100 million.
Tchouameni was in fact thrust into the center of events not long after arriving as Real Madrid sold Casemiro to Manchester United. And the 22-year-old has easily stepped into the Brazilian’s shoes, quickly rising to become one of the top players on display at the Bernabeu.
In a press conference, Varane commended Tchouameni, saying: “First of all, I applaud the adaptation that he has had in a club like Real Madrid, I know to what extent it is tough.”
Further gushing about the former AS Monaco midfielder, Varane continued: “He is a complete player, who knows how to defend and has the capacity to organize the game.
In spite of his young age, he has been asking for the ball since the first game he played for the national team. I really hope he keeps doing what he’s doing because it’s amazing.
Tchouameni had other summertime options, including a transfer to Liverpool, but the midfielder turned them down in favor of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. And the squad and his new teammates are thrilled with the effect the kid has made since moving in.
Real Madrid’s midfield division appears to be set up for the future with Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde.
