Islamic New Year: Govt declares Monday as public holiday

Following the Islamic New Year, Govt has declared Monday as public holiday

GoldenNewsNg gathered that Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has declared Monday, the 9th August, 2021 as a Public Holiday to enable civil servants and other citizens of the state commemorate the Islamic New Year 1443 After Hijrah.

This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen on Saturday by the State Head of Service, Muhammad B. Nura.

The Governor, who congratulated Muslims faithful on the dawn of yet another New Islamic Year, also solicited for support and cooperation of the people for the State to attain a greater height.

“Hon. Mai Mala Buni equally enjoined people of the State to use the occasion to pray for peace to reign in the country as well as for bumper harvest during this farming season”, it said.

The statement noted that normal work resumes on Tuesday, the 10th of August, 2021.
