Dr. Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, is running for governor of Lagos State on the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party. He claims that instead of Jenifa, the character she portrayed in the acclaimed television series Jenifa’s Dairy, he chose actress Funke Akindele.

Adediran asserted that his campaign posters had been taken down by the Lagos State administration.
He asserted that two advertising firms handling his campaign posters were “blackmailed” by the state government to remove them or risk having their licenses revoked by the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASSA).
Nigerians’ reactions to Funke Akindele’s selection as Jandor’s running mate were conflicting. While some people backed the actress, others criticized the party for choosing the Jenifa’s Dairy actress to be the party’s nominee for the deputy governorship position.
