ENOUGH OF BLOODSHED: See What The Army Did In Imo That Broke Governor Uzodinma’s Heart (Photos)

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has called on soldiers to lay down their weapons following an alleged invasion of the Izombe community in the state’ s Oguta Local Government Area by soldiers.

According to Punch Newspaper, the governor expressed his sorrow for the deaths and destruction of property that had occurred in the neighborhood.

It was previously reported by The Punch that indigenous members of the village claimed that some soldiers carried out revenge attacks on Friday, destroying homes and businesses worth a total of N1bn or more.

Residents of the village who spoke to our correspondent during a visit to the area claimed that soldiers set fire to no fewer than 80 residences, as well as several cars and valuable economic trees.

He blamed the outcome on the irresponsibility of bandits, who, according to Uzodinma, have chosen to foment mayhem rather than follow the dictates of morality. Uzodinma posted photos from his visit to the community on Facebook, where he expressedd his displeasure with the situation.

According to the governor, he claimed he was saddened by the gory sight of destroyed properties and the loss of innocent lives of innocent citizens of Izombe Community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, as a result of the recklessness of a few bandits who have chosen to foment mayhem without recourse to morality.

As a result of the current crisisis, the government has appealed to the military to lay down its sword and allow the innocents to live in peace while the government intervenes, and today, during my meeting with traditional rulers and members of the Izombe community. He went on to say that he has warned the youths of the community against taking up arms as a means of subsistence, let alone attacking constituted authorities.

He further expressed his disappointment that innocent people were forced to bear the consequences of a few criminals’ actions and called on community leaders to assist the government in rooting out these hoodlums as they work towards the restoration of peace, law, and order in the community.

He ended by saying In the coming days, he will convene a bilateral committee that will include government officials and community leaders to fashion out modalities to begin a project to restore peace, law, and order in the community.countiue reading…………..
