Could This Be The End Of Sit-At-Home Order As Youths Protest Against The Directive In Enugu

The rate at which attacks, criminality and casualties are being recorded in the Southeastern part of Nigeria, including the seeming disruption of economic activities in some southeastern states due to the controversial sit-at-home observed by some residents, has raised serious concerns among the youths and residents of the affected region.

In a recent report, youths in Enugu State, conducted a peaceful protest alleged to be against the sit-at-home directive by the Indegenious People of Biafra in a bid to secure the release of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The videotaped incident allegedly took place along Chime Avenue in New Haven, Enugu State, on Monday morning. According to the video, they were telling people to come out for their daily businesses and disregard the sit-at-home directive. And the Crowd were heard shouting “No more sit-at-home” as they walked in numbers across the streets.

The protest made it obvious that some Southeasterners who have had enough of this destructions, killings, and attacks witnessed in the region, are strongly against the directive, and this would eventually lead to the end of the sit-at-home order in the region.
