7 Signs Of A Healthy Heart

The heart is one of the most important organs in the body. It is at the center of the circulatory system. A healthy heart ensures that blood circulates in an effective manner.

On the contrary, an infected heart is a serious health challenge. Because of the unhealthy lifestyle people live today, heart diseases are becoming very common even in developed countries.

Heart diseases are the most deadly diseases in the world today. Because the heart is a major body organ, any disease that affects the heart would have a serious impact on the body.

It is therefore important that you keep watch over your heart performance. The following are simple ways to know when your heart is healthy.

1. Your pulse.

Your pulse is the number of times your heart beats in a minute. A normal pulse is one indicator of a healthy heart. However, emotional feelings such as anger, fear, depression etc may affect your heartbeat.

2. Normal Blood pressure level.

Your blood pressure refers to the force with which blood moves through your blood vessels. It has two readings, systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Systolic blood pressure is the pressure in the arteries when your heart beats while diastolic blood pressure is the pressure in between beats. Normal blood pressure is below 120/80 Hg mm.

3. Normal blood cholesterol levels.

This is the the level of fat deposits that can be found in your blood. We have total cholesterol levels which is made up of high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein.

The one that is dangerous to the body is the low density lipoproteins ( LDL) and blood triglycerides levels which should be within a normal levels.

Abnormal levels of LDL and triglycerides is an may indicate an unhealthy heart.

4. Your are very energetic

You can know how healthy your heart is through your energy levels. A healthy heart produces more energy for work.

5. Healthy breathing.

The way you breathe especially while sleeping may be an indication of the state of your heart. For instance serious snoring while sleeping may indicate sleep apnea which is a sign of heart problems.

Breathing problems even while awake may signify heart problems.

6. Your blood sugar level

Being diabetic or having a high blood sugar levels over time increases your chances of getting heart diseases and stroke. A stable blood sugar level may signify lower risk of heart problems.

7. You bounce back quickly.

When your heart is healthy, you bounce back quickly after a workout.
