As the 2023 election approaches, Deji Adeyanju, a former Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday said Bola Tinubu, National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a presidential aspirant, is planning a Muslim/Muslim ticket alongside his northern allies.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that some northern elders are drumming support for the candidacy of the former governor of Lagos state. Some of them include Nuhu Ribadu, former head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC); Kashim Shettima, erstwhile Governor of Borno State; and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Governor of Kano State.
Adeyanju meanwhile, has been canvassing for a power shift to the South-East, insisting it will be unfair if a politician of southwest extraction succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
“Tinubu and some Northern Govs working with him are planning a Muslim/Muslim ticket. They have also finished sharing all the positions in Govt with many State Chairmen and party stalwarts in APC,” Adeyanju wrote on his known Twitter handle.
